Halamshiral's terrible excuse for cookies made me think about these cookies I used to get when I lived in Denerim. I wanted to try making them but I'm shit when it comes to baking.
Hmm... not really, she was always too serious even for something like sweets. She'd have them with tea sometimes but it was my grandfather that had the big sweet tooth of the two.
[It takes a little while for her to respond. She's not really sure what to say to that or if she should ask more or what?? Talking to people is so weird and baffling.]
[ Isn't that the truth of the matter and talking about family? Even weirder. ]
My grandmother was a really serious woman. I can probably count on one hand the number times I ever saw her smile but my grandfather was the exact opposite. I guess we were as close as family could be.
[Avery gives a little hum to acknowledge that she heard her, but hesitates again on what she's supposed to say. Does she... Does she share something in return?]

Do you know how to make cookies?
no subject
...do you have any idea what time it is?
no subject
Late... ish.[ She'd get up but a dog is sleeping on top of her at the moment. ] So is that a yes or a no?
no subject
Also, siiiiiiiigh.] Yes. Why?

[She rubs at her eyes and grumbles indistinctly...]
What kind were they?
no subject
[ You love it. ]
Shortbread cookies, I think. It's been awhile but they had these drops of jam right in the middle of them.
no subject
I know the kind. So... what? You expect me to walk you through making them or something?
no subject
I'll make it worth the trouble.
no subject
[Does she mean the not burning or the making it worth it? The world may never know~~]
Are you doing this now or- or what?
no subject
[ She wishes because she, in truth, has too many names. ]
I wish but they lock the main gates up at night. I'd try and climb the walls but I'm sure someone would just shoot me.
no subject
Sweets might not be the cause to die over, no. Though it'd make a good song round the tavern probably.
no subject
[ Okay, she has to chuckle. ] Not the greatest legacy.

I never knew mine. Grandparents, I mean.
It was just me and mum.
no subject
[ Them and the servants but she barely remembers them either. Just the inside of her bedroom and forever being lost in winding halls. ]
Do you keep in touch with your mom?

no subject
[ Hmm. ] I'm planning on going back there... to Ferelden and to Denerim. I always wondered where they were buried.

When were you there last?
